An exceptional fruit

The tamarind is very common in Africa and India. Also known as the Indian date, it is recognised for its culinary use all over the world.

High in vitamin A, B1, B2, PP and C, the tamarind also contains calcium, potassium, iron, phosphorus and sodium. The pulp, which represents 40% of the pod, is high in pectin and simple sugars (20 to 40%).
